How to enhance motor performance by optimization of Neodymium Arc Magnet
The vast majority of Neodymium arc magnets are used in applications such as voice coil motor, generators, specific electronic devices and permanent magnet motors. Both shape and structure of the magnet significantly impacts the motor performance as these applications require high tolerance of heat and stress usage. Hence, the practical implementation of the arc magnet must be manufactured to maintain no substantial energy loss during its cycle. One challenge that comes with using arc magnets in permanent magnet motors is the cogging of a slotted motor due to interaction of torque between the magnet and the stator tooth. Due to the Eddy current; also known as Foucault`s current, the temperature rises in the permanent magnet which causes demagnetization hence decreasing the working efficiency of the motor. One solution that worked best to suppress torque ripple, vibration, and noise generated by cogging was to modify the radial flux motor or axial flux motor into a sk
